Powell Gardens welcomes Painted Garden (April 29-May 31). Celebrate the joy and color spreading across the Gardens with inventive botanical displays, spring blooms, and works of art. Rooted in Kansas City’s art community and presented in partnership with Rachel Hayes and Summit Art, Powell Gardens invites you to image the garden as a gallery this spring.
Featured artist, Rachel Hayes, will display her work "Kindred Spirits" in the glass-domed Conservatory. Inspired by traditions of quilt making, sculpture, painting, Minimalism, and Land Art, Hayes designed an installation that embraces light and evokes the opulence of nature and the iconic Midwestern sunset.
