PRESS RELEASE: City Updates A.D.A. Transition Plan

City Updates A.D.A. Transition Plan

May 20, 2016

The City of Warrensburg has completed the update of its Americans with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.) Transition Plan.  The City’s Transition Plan serves to identify barriers to accessibility in all City-owned facilities and programs and establishes time and budgetary goals to make corrections.

The City’s first Transition Plan update was adopted by the Warrensburg City Council in 2012.  A.D.A. Coordinator Brett Penrose, acknowledging that accessibility is always a work in progress, is pleased with the changes made by City staff.  “Since 2012, our staff has made great progress in making our parks, buildings, parking lots and programs more accessible and inclusive for all our citizens,” Penrose said.

The Transition Plan Update can be viewed on the City’s website at the following address: A hard copy can be viewed in the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, 102 S. Holden Street, Warrensburg, Missouri.  Public comments regarding the Plan will be accepted until July 11, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.
