About Dog Licenses
All dog owners who reside within the City Limits are required to obtain a dog license. The dog must be six months of age and be vaccinated against rabies. The owner must bring proof of vaccination from their veterinarian. The fee is $5.00 if the dog has been spayed/neutered or $10.00 if the dog has not been spayed/neutered.
Dog Licenses are needed to assure all dogs residing in the city limits have current rabies vaccination.
If a dog is picked up for not having a license, there may be a fine. There may also be an additional charge for feeding and shelter, as may be set by the City Council by resolution. If an impounded dog is unlicensed, the owner must comply with the City’s licensing requirements.
Dog Licenses may be obtained from the City Collector at City Hall, 102 South Holden.
