Back to School Sales Tax Holiday this Weekend
Warrensburg, MO (August 4, 2015) – The City of Warrensburg would like to remind residents that the “Back to School Sales Tax Holiday” will be this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and both Johnson County and the City of Warrensburg will be participating. The sale will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 7, and will run through Sunday, August 9.With the involvement of the City and County, we encourage those to shop locally and benefit from this great occasion and take advantage of all the local savings.
Mayor, Robin Allen expressed, “The tax free weekend is a wonderful opportunity for families to increase the buying power of their current budget, and acquire all the necessities of the upcoming school year.”
The following items will be tax exempt in Warrensburg.
Clothing and shoes up to $100 on a single item
- No tax exemption on accessories such as jewelry, scarves, watches, ties, belts, headbands, umbrellas, etc.
School supplies up to $50 on a single item
Computers up to $3,500
Software programs up to $350
If any layaway or internet items are purchased throughout the duration of the weekend, it too will be free of tax.
