The Warrensburg Police Department and the University of Central Missouri’s Department of Public Safety conducted alcohol compliance checks of local businesses that possess a liquor license, on April 29, 2010. The purpose of compliance checks is to assess the level of availability of alcohol to minors within the community and prevent the sale of alcohol to minors. Underage buyers, working under the supervision of local law enforcement, went into businesses that possesses a liquor license and attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages.
The following businesses did not sell to the under 21 aged minor(s) used in this set of compliance checks:
Expressway’s North, 221 East Young Street Jerry’s One Stop, 712 South Maguire Street Breaktime, 701 South Maguire Street Quick Stop, 801 East Hale Lake Road Casey’s South, 1118 South Ridgeview Drive Quick Stop, 312 North Maguire Street Breakplace, 250 East Cooper Drive Wal-Mart, 301 East Cooper Drive Casey’s North, 602 East Young Street Fitter’s, 143 West Pine Street
The following businesses did not allow the underage minor(s) used in this set of compliance checks to enter or remain in their establishments:
The 400, 130 West Pine Street Nine, 117 West Pine Street Johnny’s Pour House, 115 North Holden Street Kazi’s, 113 West Pine Street
The following business did sell to the underage minor(s)
BILO, 410 East Young Street Employee, Barbara Rae Cooley was arrested for 1count of Sale of Alcohol to a Minor.
Walgreens, 621 North Maguire Street Employee, Cody Lee Page was arrested for 1count of Sale of Alcohol to a Minor.
