SITE SUPERVISOR
Facilities: Cave Hollow, WCC, Lions Lake, West Park and Buford
Qualifications: Public relations skills; Responsible; Ability to work with little supervision; Knowledge of slow pitch softball, soccer and/or baseball/softball; First Aid and CPR certified
Pay: $7.45 per hour (Work Study Eligible)
Responsibilities: Supervise adult slow pitch softball, youth soccer programs and/or youth baseball/softball games; serve as an on-site representative for WPR; set up and take down game equipment; handle game related problems with players, fans or parents; supervise program staff; communicate with Recreation Supervisor;
Days/Hours: Varies.

START SMART STAFF
Qualifications: Teaching/coaching experience preferred; Basic knowledge of baseball; ability to work with children; first aid and CPR certified
Pay: $7.45 per hour (Work Study Eligible)
Responsibilities: Help parents teach their children (ages 3-4) the motor skills necessary to achieve success and confidence needed for organized sports; help create a positive first time sports experience; keep children involved in the activities; communicate with staff, parents and supervisor
Hours: Mondays 5:00 –7:00 pm June & July; Saturdays 8:00 am—10:00 am June & July

SOFTBALL OFFICIAL
Qualifications: ASA certification preferred; experience preferred
Pay: $17-$20 per game depending on certification
Responsibilities: Umpire adult slow pitch softball games using the one-umpire system; administer games in a professional and responsible manner
Hours: Monday – Friday evenings

TENNIS INSTRUCTOR
Qualifications: Teaching/coaching experience preferred; Basic knowledge of tennis fundamentals; Ability to work with children; First Aid and CPR certified
Pay: $7.45 per hour (Work Study Eligible)
Responsibilities: Teach children the fundamental skills of tennis; interact with all the children; communicate with staff, parents and supervisor as needed; be able to keep children interested
Hours: Varies

YOUTH SOCCER OFFICIAL
Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of FIFA rules; understanding of officiating mechanics; dependable, conscientious, consistent, willing to hustle; any soccer certification is preferred
Pay: $14—$17 per game
Responsibilities: Referee youth soccer games; present WPR in a positive and professional manner; handle game-related problems with players, coaches or fans
Hours: Saturdays in March & April

INSTRUCTIONAL SPORTS STAFF
Qualifications: Teaching/coaching experience preferred; Ability to work with children; Basic knowledge of baseball/softball fundamentals required, overall general knowledge of most sports is preferred; First Aid and CPR certified
Pay: $7.45 per hour (Work Study Eligible)
Responsibilities: Teach a team of children (5-6 and/or 1st grade) the fundamental skills in a variety of sports; interact with all the children; communicate with staff, parents and supervisor as needed
Hours: Varies

SCOREKEEPER
Qualifications: Understanding of the game of softball/baseball and scoring procedures; dependable and conscientious
Pay: $6—$7 per game
Responsibilities: Keep score and all pertinent game records at adult softball games and youth baseball/softball games; communicate with officials, staff & fans
Hours: Monday-Friday evenings

CONCESSION ATTENDANT
Qualifications: Ability to multi-task; customer service skills; must be at least 16 years of age
Pay: $7.25 per hour
Responsibilities: Pre-pare and serve food items; cleaning of concession stand and area; inventory and record keeping.
Hours: Varies. Must be able to work weekends.

FRONT DESK ATTENDANT
NASSIF AQUATIC CENTER

Qualifications: Ability to multi-task; customer service skills; some computer skills helpful.
Pay: $7.45 per hour
Responsibilities: Processes registrations and daily pool admissions. Respond to telephone requests, understand and enforce facility policies.
Hours: Varies. Must be able to work weekends.

SERVICE MANAGER
NASSIF AQUATIC CENTER

Qualifications: Ability to multi-task; customer service skills; computer skills
Pay: $8.50 per hour
Responsibilities: Ensures proper opening and/or closing of the NAC. Maintains critical cash controls. Assist front desk and concession attendants.
Hours: Varies. Must be able to work weekends.

CONCESSION COORDINATOR
Qualifications: Organizational skills a must.; ability to multi-task; customer service skills; some computer skills helpful.
Pay: $8.50 per hour
Responsibilities: Supervise concession operation for three ballfields and Nassif Aquatic Center. Responsible for scheduling, ordering, stocking, inventory and cleanliness of concession stands.
Hours: Varies. Must be able to work weekends.

FITNESS ATENDANT
Qualifications: Basic knowledge of fitness; Ability to work with people; First Aid and CPR certified.
Pay: $7.25 per hour (Work Study Eligible)
Responsibilities: Responsible for supervision of fitness area; Greet guests; Clean equipment; Teach orientation workshops on use of equipment.
Hours: Mondays—Fridays 5:30 am—9pm Saturdays 8am—8 pm Sundays 12:00 pm—6:00 pm

RECREATION LEADER
Qualifications: Ability to lead and organize recreation activities; Ability to work with people; First Aid and CPR certified.
Pay: $7.25—$7.45 (Work Study Eligible)
Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting in recreation programs including youth, family and special events. Helps in development and implementation of activities. (GREAT job for Recreation Majors!)
Hours: Varies

CUSTODIAN
Qualifications: Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.
Pay: $7.50 per hour (Work Study Eligible)
Responsibilities: Performs maintenance of the WCC and ABC Building. Includes general cleaning of the interior and exterior of the facility as well as the set-up and breakdown of rooms.
Hours: Varies. Must be able to work weekends.

WCC ATTENDANTS
Qualifications: Ability to multi-task, Excellent customer service skills, Some computer skills helpful. Must be able to work weekends.
Responsibilities: Responds to telephone request, assists patrons and performs a wide variety of administrative functions for the WCC. Process registrations and facility rentals.
Pay: $7.50 per hour (Work Study Eligible)

CLASS INSTRUCTORS
Qualifications: Skilled or talented in designated area; Ability to teach; Organizational skills
Pay: Based on percentage
Responsibilities: Teaches and organizes classes. (Needed in Basket Weaving, Children’s Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Sign Language, and more!)
Hours: Set by Instructor

RECREATION INTERN
Qualifications: Hard worker; Dependable; Willingness to learn
Pay: Varies
Responsibilities: Assists in overall operation of department. See intern packet for additional details.
Hours: Varies

AEROBIC/FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
Qualifications: Certified in specific area of instruction. Must be WPR approved certification. First Aid and CPR Certified
Pay: $10 per hour
Responsibilities: Teaches variety of fitness classes (Zumba, Yoga, Aerobics, PACE, etc.)
Hours: Varies—especially need weekend and late evening instructors

PERSONAL TRAINERS
Qualifications: Certified by AFFA, ACE or other WPR approved certification program. CPR and First Aid Certified
Pay: $16 per session
Responsibilities: Works with patrons in planning individual fitness goals and program.
Hours: Varies

SWIM INSTRUCTORS
Applications are currently being taken for Summer 2010.
Qualifications: Current CPR and First Aid, WSI is a definite plus.
Responsibilities: WPR instructors teach many different learn to swim programs including Water Babies, Pre-school Swim Academy, American Red Cross Learn to Swim Levels 1-6, Piranhas Swim Team, Aqua Camp, and Adult Learn to Swim.
Pay $7.45 per hour
Hours: Varies-must be available to teach entire session of a class (8 days)

WATER EXERCISE INSTRUCTORS
Qualifications: Current CPR and First Aid, WPR approved certification preferred.
Responsibilities: Teaches a variety of aquatic exercise classes.
Pay: $15—$20 per hours (varies by certification)
Hours: Varies.

SUMMER DAY CAMP STAFF
Position runs end of May through mid August. Hiring Directors (2), Unit Leaders (12-14), Unit Leaders in Training (8-10). Must be First Aid and CPR Certified. (Work Study Eligible)
Pay:
Director $9.00 per hour
Unit Leader $$7.45 per hour

Mandatory Training set for May 26 & 27
Deadline to apply is February 19, 2010

Unit Leader in Training $5.95 per hour
