Finance Officer

The City of Warrensburg, Missouri, is seeking an accounting professional for the position of Finance Officer/Sr. Accountant. The City of Warrensburg (pop. approximately 20,000) is located 45 miles east of Kansas City and is home to the University of Central Missouri. This management-level position is responsible for all aspects of the City’s financial and accounting operations. These include internal audit and preparation of financial statements for annual external audit as required by GASB. It is also responsible for the general ledger and directs the preparation of journal entries, oversees A/P, A/R and payroll, directs all cash management activities. The position prepares financial management reports, acts as grant administrator and executes debt and bond management policy as well as management of the City’s investments and its capital assets. Successful applicant must have experience in government fund accounting. CPA and experience with Incode software is preferred, but not required. Salary is dependent on qualifications and/or experience. Applicants must pass a background check.
