The Warrensburg City Council voted unanimously to adopt the 2006 International Family of Construction Codes on February 1, 2008, by Ordinance Number 4329.
The codes adopted:
- 2006 International Building Code
- 2006 International Residential Code
- 2006 International Existing Building Code
- 2006 International Fire Code
- 2006 International Plumbing Code
- 2006 International Mechanical Code
- 2006 International Fuel Gas Code
- 2006 International Energy Conservation Code
- 2006 ICC Electric Code – Administrative Provisions which adopts the 2005 National Electrical Code
(The new codes took effect and apply to all new building projects permitted after February 1, 2008).
FINAL INSPECTIONS
AND
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
New construction, new additions, new remodels, and any other work requiring a permit, also must have a FINAL INSPECTION, to assure the work is competed to code compliance. After Electric Service and Gas Service has been inspected and approved, many people forget that they still need a FINAL INSPECTION. When a FINAL inspection has been performed, then a CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY, or a CERTIFICATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION will be issued, depending on the nature of the work permitted.
If you know that you will need to occupy by a certain date, contact our inspection division and we will work with you to insure that your goals may be accomplished.
